The Dallas Mustangs took 53 swimmers to this year’s Damon McCoy Invitational in Shreveport, Louisiana. It was a tremendous weekend for all of those who participated, from the swimmers, to the coaches (Mook and Doug), and to all of the parents who also made the trip. Some of the highlights included: the trivia game on the bus, swimming in the rain, dancing Saturday night at the mall, winning the team spirit award, two meet records by Candace Blackman and one by Norm Stephens, all kinds of goodies given out for outstanding performances, and an incredibly competitive effort by all of the Mustangs swimmers.

As is evidenced in this photo, excess sunshine and resulting sunburns were not the primary challenge. Though rain occurred on and off over the weekend, the full meet was completed and only two events needed to be shifted to a following day. |
