Long Course Championships

The team captured yet another coveted TAGS flag with a 7th place finish at the Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS) in Austin, TX.  Caleb Veazey and Andrew Tran led the way for the team by capturing multiple individual titles.  Des Godfrey, Eric Futscher and Scott Weeks also contributed individual points.  The 13-14 boys relays of Andrew Tran, Caleb Veazey, Scott Weeks, and Nicholas Saliba brought home three relay championships.

At the Texas Senior Circuit Championships in Austin, TX the Mustangs finished 2nd in the team standings.  The Mustangs captured four relay titles and Candace Blackman led the way individually with a victory in the 200 free.  Leane Darling, Jennifer Blackman, Candace Blackman, Codie Hansen, Katie Roberts, Tiffany Sammis, Meredith Monroe, Spin Beck, Molly Bollen, Camillo Becerra, Justin Stephenson, Eric Gusa, JD White, Matt Thompson, Jonathon Berrettini, Brooks Haller and Josh Cohen all contributed points to the cause.

The Mustangs picked up another 2nd place team finish at the Long Course Speedo Sectional Championships also held in Austin, TX.  Many of the same swimmers from the Senior Circuit Championships paced the team once again.  Individual event winners for the Mustangs were Matt Thompson, Codie Hansen, Kannon Betzen, and Spin Beck.

After all of the big meets in the state of Texas it was time for the Mustangs to head west.  First, the Mustangs competed in the ConocoPhillips U.S. Summer Nationals.  The women’s team was once again very powerful with many strong relays pacing it to an 11th place finish in the nation.  Candace Blackman, Jennifer Blackman, Leanne Darling, Katie Roberts, Molly Bollen, Spin Beck, Meredith Monroe, Matt Thompson, JD White, Jonathon Berrettini and Brooks Haller all represented the Mustangs at nationals.

To complete the season in Irvine, CA the Mustangs competed in the United States Junior National Championships.  The team of Spin Beck, Molly Bollen Meredith Monroe, Alyssa Landino, Kannon Betzen, Lauren Roth, Maddie Steiner, Matt Thompson, Clint Hallum, Brooks Haller and Max Murphy came away with an 8th place finish.

Short Course Championships

At our home pool in Addison, TX 39 Mustang swimmers competed in the Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS).  The team came away with a 7th place finish among all the teams in the state.  Matt Thompson and Spin Beck set the pace for the team with each capturing multiple individual championships.  The other individual point scoring swims for the Mustangs came from Destine Godfrey, Malin Kenny, Stephanie Martin, and Scott Weeks..

The Mustangs continued their success in College Station, TX at the Short Course Speedo Sectional Championships.  The team fell just short of their third consecutive sectional championship with a 2nd place finish.  Codie Hansen led the way on the women’s side while capturing the high point award.  Another individual highlight was Matt Thompson setting a new 13-14 boys national age group record in the 100 back.  Also contributing with point scoring swims were -

The team completed the spring season at the United States World Championship Trials in Indianapolis, IN.  Representing the Mustangs at the meet were Codie Hansen, Molly Bollen, Spin Beck, Candace Balckman, Jennifer Blackman, Katie Roberts, Jonathon Berrettini, and J D White.
