Long Course Championships

More than sixty teams came to Austin, TX to compete in the Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS).  By the end of the meet the Mustangs would come away with an impressive 6th place finish.  The meet was highlighted by the 13-14 year old girls team of Caroline Barnett, Molly Bollen, Meredith Monroe, and Maddie Steiner setting state records in both the 200 and 400 medley relays.  Spin Beck also broke the state record in the 200 yard breaststroke.  Caroline Barnett, Herbie Behm, Molly Bollen, Meredith Monroe, Lauren Roth, Caleb Veazey, and Catia Weickgenant also contributed individual points to the team score.

Joining more than 40 teams from across the state the Mustangs competed at the Texas Senior Circuit Championships in Austin, TX.  The Mustangs finished in 5th place overall with point scoring swims by - Candace Blackman, Jeff Girard, Jennifer Blackman, Codie Hansen, Kenneth Wherry, Dallas Marshall, Julia Tucker-Huth, Debbie Forinash, Jana Korbasova, Kaileen Gersper, Laura Kock, Jennifer Brooks, Eric Hadley, Eric Gusa, Andrew Hansen, Emilio Garmendia, Justin Stephenson, Griffin Marshall, Fabian Toth, Jacob Rodriguez, and Markus Pineyro.

Many of the swimmers from the Senior Circuit Championships also competed at the Long Course Speedo Sectional Championships held in Southlake, TX.  The Mustangs swam their way to an 8th place finish out of more than 60 teams from across the country.  The individual scorers who led the way for the Mustangs were Adriane Devereux, Jennifer Blackman, Spin Beck, Matt Waghorst, Eric Gusa, Andrew Hansen, and Justin Stephenson.

The Mustangs continued their summer success in College Park, MD for the ConocoPhillips U.S. Summer Nationals.  The women once again had a strong showing while placing 36th overall.  Candace Blackman, Jennifer Blackman, Codie Hansen, Dallas Marshall, Tiffany Bohon, Andrew Hansen, Eric Gusa, Griffin Marshall, Eric Hadley, and Justin Stephenson all represented the Mustangs in Maryland.

Short Course Championships

The Mustangs began the short course season by powering their way to a dominant victory at the BB/B/C Championships held at North Lake College.  Over 80 Mustangs competed at the meet and claimed their second consecutive short course Division C title by over 700 points!!!

At the Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS) held in College Station, TX the Mustangs finished in 12th place.  Spin Beck led the way for the Mustangs by breaking three North Texas records.  Keegan Watters, Stephanie Martin, Molly Bollen, Caroline Barnett, Meredith Monroe and Caleb Veazey also contributed individual points to the Mustangs cause.

The Mustangs then powered their way to a 2nd place finish out of 45 teams at the Short Course Speedo Sectional Championships held in College Station, TX.  The Mustangs were led by many strong individual performances as well as loads of depth in the relay events.  Scoring swims were turned in by Candace Blackman, Jennifer Blackman, Kaileen Gersper, Meredith Grubb, Kate Gunning, Codie Hansen, Katie Smith, Julia Tucker-Huth, Kenley Woods, Byron Carlisle, Eric Gusa, Andrew Hansen, Griffin Marshall, and Fabian Toth.

Ten swimmers represented the Mustangs at the ConocoPhillips U.S. Spring Nationals in Indianapolis, IN.  Spin Beck, Candace Blackman, Jennifer Blackman, Codie Hansen, Katie Smith, Julia Tucker-Huth, Eric Gusa, Andrew Hansen, Griffin Marshall, and Ed Wagner led the way for the Mustangs on the national stage.
