Long Course Championships

The Mustangs took a team record 52 participants to Austin, TX to compete in the Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS).  The large Mustang contingent brought home yet another TAGS flag with an 8th place finish among 63 teams across the state.  Those representing the Mustangs at TAGS were -

At the Long Course Speedo Sectional Championships in Austin, TX the Mustangs once again had a strong finish.  The team ended the meet in 4th place in the overall team standings amongst 47 teams.  Candace Blackman, Andrew Hansen, Kenneth Wherry, Jennifer Blackman, Jeff Girard, Fabian Toth, Tiffany Bohon, Bart Fassino, Jacob Rodriguez, Kaileen Gersper, Alan Antillon, Marcus Pineyro, Debbie Forinash, Jakob Andersen, Jono Newton, Codie Hansen, Griffin Marshall, Dallas Marshall, Josh Kittrell, Martina Moravcova, Jon Hemphill, Courtney Patterson, Eric Gusa and Julia Pomeroy all contributed to the strong finish for the Mustangs.

 

Once again the Mustangs sent six athletes to represent the team at the Phillips 66 U.S. Summer Nationals.  Codie Hansen, Candace Blackman, Jennifer Blackman, Dallas Marshall, Courtney Patterson and Tiffany Bohan all represented the Mustangs well in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

 Short Course Championships

The Mustangs defended their home pool admirably during the Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS).  The team came away with a 13th place finish thanks to individual point scoring swims by - Caroline Barnett, Spindrift Beck, Byron Carlisle, Hannah Ferrin, Meredith Grubb, Meredith Monroe and Lauren Roth.

Mustang athletes continued the championship season in College Station, TX at the Short Course Speedo Sectional Championships.  The team finished in 4th place out of all the teams involved including many from around the nation.  Candace Blackman led the way for the Mustangs while winning the Women’s High Point Award.  Also representing the Mustangs at the Sectional Championships were:

The Mustangs wrapped up the spring season with the Women capturing a 4th place finish at Phillips 66 U.S. Spring Nationals in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  This is the highest placing for the team to date.  Candace Blackman and Codie Hansen contributed individual points to the cause.  Codie’s performance in the 100 free earned her a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team.  In addition Jennifer Blackman, Kenley Woods, Kaileen Gersper and Meredith Grubb helped out on relays.
