Long Course Championships

At the Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS) held in the Woodlands, TX the Mustangs came away with a 5th place finish.  There were many strong performances among the 47 Mustang athletes competing at the meet.  Leading the way was Codie Hansen who set four meet records and won the 13-14 girls High Point Award.  Caroline Barnett, Spin Beck, Kelly Cobourn and Griffin Marshall also claimed individual victories.  The other point scorers for the Mustangs were:

Caleb Veazey, Andrew Hansen, Alexandra Jennings, Julia Tucker-Huth, Meredith Monroe, Molly Bollen, Eric Gusa, Codie Hansen, Kate Gunning, Fabian Toth, Kaileen Gersper, Kenley Woods, Jeff Girard, Dennis Bowsher.

The Mustangs captured another 2nd place finish at the Long Course Speedo Sectional Championships held in Oklahoma City, OK.  The Mustangs were dominant in the relay events capturing five of six relay championships.  Candace Blackman, Matt Weghorst, Katie McClelland and Josh Kittrell also turned in individual champion performances.  The other Mustangs that contributed to the strong team finish were - Jennifer Blackman, Chris Epp, Dallas Marshall, Rob Harrison, Codie Hansen, Debbie Forinash, Tim Carlson, Courtney Patterson, Julia Pomeroy and Tiffany Bohon.

At the Phillips 66 U.S. Summer Nationals in Fresno, CA the Mustangs continued their success on the national stage.  The team was once again strong in the relay events with the men capturing two top eight finishes and the women claiming two bronze medals.  Candace Blackman, Tim Carlson, Jennifer Blackman, Chris Epp, Codie Hansen, Bart Fassino, Dallas Marshall, Rob Harrison, Katie McClelland, and Matt Weghorst all represented the Mustangs on their way to a 6th place finish among all the teams in the country.

 Short Course Championships

The Mustangs were well represented at both the B/C Championships held in Duncanville and the BB Championships held at Northlake College.  Twenty one Mustangs competed at the B/C Championships and brought home a 4th place finish in the division.  The Mustangs had a similar result at the BB Championships as the twenty six Mustang participants led the way to another 4th place finish.

Once again the Mustangs had a strong showing at the Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS).  The Mustangs finished in 8th place out of all the teams in Texas.  Strong individual performances were put in by Codie Hansen (3 TAGS records, 13-14 girls High Point Award), and Spin Beck.  Also contributing to the point total were - Ashley Rape, Caleb Veazey, Meredith Grubb, Hannah Ferrin, Alexandra Weber, Alexandra Jennings, Megan Daniel, Molly Bollen, Lauren Roth, Caroline Jennings, Kate Gunning and Nicole Keller.

At the first ever Short Course Sectional Championships the Mustangs once again showed their strength.  The Mustangs earned a 2nd place finish in the overall team standings at the meet held in San Antonio, TX.  The team was very strong in the relay events and also posted many fine individual performances.  The following swimmers contributed individual points - Candace Blackman, Eric Gusa, Codie Hansen, Andrew Hansen, Jennifer Blackman, Kenneth Wherry, Kelly Cobourn, Jeff Girard, Katie McClelland, Dennis Bowsher, Courtney Patterson, Griffin Marshall, Claire Henderson and Kenley Woods.

The Mustangs sent Courtney Patterson, Debbie Forinash, Jennifer Blackman, Katie McClelland, Codie Hansen and Candace Blackman to the Phillips 66 National Championships held in Austin, TX.  The group teamed together to finish 10th in the Women’s team standings.  Also, due to her strong performance Candace Blackman was named to the USA Swimming National Junior Team.
