Mustangs at Junior PAN PAC
Championship!
The Dallas Mustangs
were honored to represent the United States
at the Junior PAN PAC Championship held on the island
of Maui, Hawaii from January 11-14, 2007. The meet places the best Junior
swimmers from countries in the continents of North America, South America, Asia
and Australia
in team competition.
Mustang’s supporting
Team USA efforts in this prestigious international competition included USA
Junior Team members Matt Thompson and Spindrift Beck, plus, DM head coach Mook Rhodenbauch. Since being name to the Junior National team
Spin has been named co-captain of the Women’s team. Mook was chosen as
an assistant coach for the PAN PAC Women’s Team.
Matt
Thompson brought home a Bronze Medal in the 100 Back and a Silver Medal in the 200 Back. In the 200 Back, Matt finished just behind
fellow USA
swimmer Joey Chitwood with both beating the prior
meet record for this event and beating the remainder of the competition by 2+
seconds. Matt also finaled in the 200 and 400 IM events finishing 5th
in both.
Spin Beck won the Silver Medal in the 200 IM.
Spin also swam in the B final for the 100 & 200 Breast finishing 10th
and 12th respectively.
