Mustangs Score in 2006 High School Championships!!

Mustang High School swimmers took the first step toward glory at by qualifying for state meets for their schools. Mustang team members supported their high school teams admirably during regional qualifying, leading their respective high schools toward the state championships.

UIL Texas State Championship Results

In the Texas High School UIL Championships held in Austin on Feb 24-25^th –

Mustang swimmers had a fantastic showing at finals bringing home a number of individual and relay medals at the State Championships held at UT-Austin.

The Highland Park (HP) High School Women’s Team, fueled by a number of DM swimmers, won their sixth consecutive 4A State title. Hats off to Alexandra Jennings, Alex Weber, Bolton Harris & Delaney Rolfe in their support of the HP victory.

In Relays…

Alex Jennings & Alex Weber led HP’s 4A Gold Medal winning 200 Medley Relay.

Tori Beckman, Bolton Harris & Alex Weber brought HP a 4A Bronze Medal in the 200 Free Relay.

Bolton Harris, Alex Jennings & Alex Weber led HP’s 4A Gold Medal winning 400 Free Relay.

Nick & John Kalivas formed half of Pearce’s 5A Bronze Medal Relay in the 400 Free

AND, THE SENIOR MEDAL WINNERS…

Molly Bollen – Flyer Supreme! Molly Bollen, Carrollton Newman Smith, won TX-5A Gold in 100 Fly. This follows Molly’s Silver in this event at last years champ[ionships. Molly also added a 4^th place state finish in the 50 Free. Molly will be attending and swimming for the University of Missouri Tigers. .Congratulations Molly!

Meredith Grubb – Two More Medals! Meredith Grubb, Hebron High School, won the Silver Medal in the TX-4A 200 IM . Meredith rounded out an outstanding meet by winning Bronzer in the 100 Breast. This brings Meredith’s total individual medal count to 8 (out of 8) During her Junior year she won Gold in the 200 IM and Silver in the 100 Free; Sophomore year she won a Silver Medal in the 200 Free and Bronze in the 500 Free; and, as a Freshman it was Silver in the 100 Breast and Bronze in the 500 Free. Meredith will be attending TCU and swimming for the Horned Frogs this coming Fall.

AND, THE UNDERCLASSMEN WINNING MEDALS…

Max Murphy – Flower Mound! Max Murphy, a Sophomore at Lewisville Flower Mound, won the Bronze Medal in the TX-5A 100 Back.	Clint Hallum – Mesquite Poteet! Clint Hallum, a Junior at Mesquite Poteet, medaled in two events in the TX-4A Championships. Clint won a Silver Medal in the 500 Free and Silver in the 200 IM.
Stephanie Martin – Dallas Wilson! Stephanie Martin, a Sophomore at Dallas Wilson, won a Silver in the 100 Breast in the TX-4A Championships. Stephanie won Bronze in this same event as a Freshman.	Matt Thompson – Jesuit Prep! Matt Thompson, a Freshman at Jesuit, won the Gold Medal in 100 Back in the TX-5A Championships. Matt made it a double medal day by scoring Silver in the 200 IM.
