Thompson Medals at World Youth Championships

Matt Thompson brought home a Bronze Medal in the 100M Backstroke representing the United States at the FINA World Youth Championships held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 22-26, 2006. In addition to Matt’s medal winning performance, Matt finished 11^th in the world in both the 200 and 400 IM.

This competition brings together the premier athletes under 18 from all over the world. Matt qualified as one of only four men from the United States to compete at these championships.
