Mustangs Finish High at USA 2003 Spring National!

A super showing was displayed by our Mustangs at this year’s United States Spring National Swimming Championships held in Indianapolis April 1-5. Our team went up against the country’s best club teams in addition to many college teams and finished an outstanding 12^th place in the final standings. Our finish sandwiched us between Stanford University in 11^th and Auburn University in 13^th…not bad company!!!

Candace Blackman led the Mustangs by scoring in multiple events. The men had the highest scoring relay for the Mustangs by finishing 10^th in the 400 medley relay.  Team members swimming at Nationals were:

Candace Blackman – 50 fr-19^th, 100 fr-11^th, 200 fr-7^th, 100 fly-47^th

Jennifer Blackman – 100 fr-49^th, 200 fr-82

Codie Hansen – 50 fr-103^rd, 100 fr-48^th, 200 fr-49^th

Ed Wagner - 50 fr-14^th

400 Free Relay – 12^th (J. Blackman, C. Hansen, Julia Tucker-Huth, C. Blackman)

800 Free Relay – 14^th (J. Blackman, C. Hansen, Katie Smith, C. Blackman)

400 Medley Relay – 20^th (K. Smith, Spin Beck, C. Blackman, J. Blackman)

400 Medley Relay – 10^th (Andrew Hansen, Griffin Marshall, Eric Gusa, E. Wagner)

We are extremely proud of the Mustangs noted above, not only for their personal accomplishments, but also for the incredible way that you represent the Dallas Mustang tradition of excellence.
