The Dallas Mustangs had some super swims at the 2001 Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships held in Austin, TX. Representing the Mustangs were Courtney Patterson, Debbie Forinash, Jennifer Blackman, Katie McClelland, Codie Hansen and Candace Blackman. |
We had a fantastic meet highlighted by a 10th Place finish in the women's team standings and Candace Blackman being named to the USA Swimming National Junior Team.
"Girl Power" was a Mustang theme at these Nationals with our women achieving top-eight finishes in two relays. In the 400 Free Relay Codie Hansen, Candace Blackman, Courtney Patterson and Jennifer Blackman powered DM to a 5th place National Finish. On the final day of competition, our 400 Medley Relay team of Courtney Patterson, Katie McClelland, Candace Blackman and Jennifer Blackman brought home a Silver Medal by finishing second nationally with a blistering time of 4.17:14.

Candace Blackman: 18th place 200 Free; 17th place 100 Free; 21st place 50 Free
Katie McClelland: 9th place 100 Breaststroke; 9th place 200 Breaststroke
