Dallas Mustangs 2001 Results
Texas Age Group Swimming (TAGS) Championship
(Held in The Woodlands, TX - July 25-29, 2001)
The Dallas Mustangs had a great meet bringing home a coveted TAGS Flag with a 5th place finish at the 2001 Texas Age Group Swimming Championships. This was a super all-around team effort with Mustangs represented in 7 of the 8 age-group classifications and a total of 47 team members participating.
Highlights of the meet included the DM relay teams scoring all over the board and Codie Hansen being top point scorer among 13-14 women. On her way to this award, Codie finished 1st or 2nd in all seven events that she entered (maximum allowed) and set TAGS records in 4 events (50 free, 100 free, 400 free and 100 back). Way to go Codie!
Of note were the performances of Spin Beck, Caroline Barnett, Kelly Cobourn and Griffin Marshall. Spin won two events (50 and 100 breast) reaching finals in 2 additional events among 10 & U women. Caroline won the 100 back and reached finals in 4 other events among 11-12 women. Kelly won the 50 free while reaching final in 3 other events in the 15-18 women's age-group. Griffin brought home a victory in the 100 breast and reached the finals in the 200 breast among 15-18 men.
